  • Bass Player Tiggy Joins The Laney Family

We’re proud to welcome Tiggy, a rising star of the bass playing world, to the Laney artist family.

Based in Bristol, Tiggy has quickly built a reputation as one of the most exciting young bass players on the UK and international touring scene. Whether she’s holding down the low end live with bands like Land Captains, Awake by Design, or DEA VELATA or recording solo material, Tiggy brings a tone and style that’s unmistakably her own.

With over 20,000 followers on Instagram and cover videos that have earned shoutouts from Metallica, Fear Factory, Baroness, and Nik West, Tiggy is tearing up the music world with her infectious grooves, great covers and her incredible live sound – which is why we’re here today!

Now, she’s powering her sound with the Laney Digbeth bass amp series. So, I reached out to her to find out why she chooses to play Laney bass amps, what it’s like working with the Laney family, how she feels about joining as a Laney artist, and what she loves about the Laney Digbeth bass amps.

What Bass Rig Does Tiggy Use?

Tiggy’s full bass amp setup is a tone chaser’s dream, and it’s all powered by Laney.

“I use the Laney Digbeth DB200-210 Combo amp, as well as the Laney Digbeth DB-PRE pre-amp (I can’t go without it now! It’s my holy grail at shows) and the Laney x Aurora DSP Digbeth plug-in!”

This is the kind of hybrid setup you want if you’re serious about sculpting your sound live and in the studio. The combo punches hard, the preamp gives full tonal control, and the Aurora DSP plug-in means that when she’s not on stage, she’s still getting that same precise tone that she’s worked so hard to sculpt at home or jamming new tracks in the studio.

Why Did Tiggy Choose the Laney Digbeth Series Bass Amps?

Like all of our Laney artists, Tiggy wanted one simple thing in her bass amp setup. Versatility. We’ve discussed the benefits and best features of the Laney Digbeth bass amps in detail here, but versatility is what our artists keep coming back to.

“The main reason I chose the Digbeth is due to its versatility; the flexibility in crafting your EQ and voicing is what stood out to me the most. I’m quite particular about my sound, so to have the ability to be more precise with features like the FET/TUBE signal blend and ‘Tilt’ EQ control is a real game changer. I also love the fact they collaborated with Aurora DSP on the Digbeth plug-in, as it means I can get the same incredible tone with ease at home too.”

If you’ve ever spent hours tweaking your rig only to lose it when you get home and want to write a song or bass riff with the same sound, you’ll know exactly what she means.

Also—massive shoutout to the built-in noise gate. Tiggy puts it best:

“The DB200-210 also has a built-in noise gate, which is perhaps one of the most practical amp features I’ve ever come across!”

Confidence in Your Tone = Confidence On Stage

As a touring musician, Tiggy needs to rely on her gear. And especially if you’re a hired gun, your sound needs to be top-notch every night. Reliable. Powerful and above all, consistent. This is what it’s really about.

“Having confidence in your sound and tone is such an important thing, and can easily translate into your confidence when playing. With the Digbeth, I never have to second guess my sound and can rely on it to always provide a tone I can be proud of in any scenario, be it on stage or in my home studio.”

No second guessing. No compromises (just like Simon Fraser-Clark always says here at Laney). Just your tone, the way you want it.

Is the Digbeth Series Versatile Enough For a Touring Musician Playing Different Genres?

Short answer: yes!

“I find it incredibly versatile! I love a warmer, more rounded bass tone that still has a lot of clarity and a little crisp on the top end. By combining the warmth of the FET signal with slightly scooped mids and a slight bass tilt and blending the TUBE signal, I can really hone in on my preferred sound for any occasion.” Says Tiggy

This is why the Digbeth range works for Tiggy’s multiple projects and is easily adaptable across prog, metal, theatre, function gigs and beyond. It adapts to your tone, you don’t have to adapt to it!

What’s It Like Working with Laney?

We don’t pay artists to say nice things. We earn it and we’re very grateful to work with such incredible artists like Tiggy. So here’s what she had to say about working with us here at Laney.

“The team at Laney are absolutely brilliant. They’ve always been incredibly supportive of me and it’s an absolute pleasure to be able to work with such a great team of people on a regular basis.”

What’s Next for Tiggy? (Spoiler: She’s Busy)

Tiggy isn’t just playing bass—she’s building something. Multiple bands, massive gigs, and now… solo material.

“Having joined Awake by Design and DEA VELATA alongside Land Captains, I’m going to be pretty stacked up on the gig front! I’m also in the process of writing my first single as a solo artist, which I’m super excited about as I’ve not done anything like this before!”

And she’s not stopping there.

“I’m planning on attending the Guitar Summit and NAMM next year too, so lots of fun things in the pipeline at the moment!”

One Of The Hardest Working Musicians In The Country

Tiggy is the real deal when it comes to hard working musicians and we couldn’t be prouder to have her as part of the Laney family. Tone-obsessed, fiercely creative, and repping a new generation of bassists who care deeply about what comes out of their rig. She’s not just joining Laney, she’s helping inspire musicians everywhere.
