{"id":662,"date":"2022-08-18T14:32:59","date_gmt":"2022-08-18T14:32:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.laney.co.uk\/blog\/?p=662"},"modified":"2026-01-21T09:21:39","modified_gmt":"2026-01-21T09:21:39","slug":"laney-live-malevolence-at-bloodstock-open-air-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.laney.co.uk\/blog\/laney-live-malevolence-at-bloodstock-open-air-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Laney Live &#8211; Malevolence at Bloodstock Open Air 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\">From the city of steel, pure heavy metal\u2026<\/h1>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: center;\">Sheffield is a city built on heavy industry, industry with a long history of steel production, but a city built on musical heritage, from Arctic Monkeys to Pulp, Def Leppard to While She Sleeps, but there are new heavy metal heroes on the rise, they are Malevolence and they put the \u2018M\u2019 back in metal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: center;\">Meteoric rise since the return of live music in mid-2021 has seen them gain the attention of the music industry, a rise that continues to grow with a stop off at Bloodstock Open Air Festival for a headline slot on the Sophia stage. Something that was very special, not a one-off, but a first. A first of many headline performances for Malevolence, the first performance to nearly ten thousand people, one thing that is absolutely not a \u2018first\u2019 is the complete nailing of a metal gig by one of if not <em>the<\/em> best metal band on the planet right now.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;
